The Duke has a passion for literature and history, particularly examples from pre-Colombian and colonial Latin America, with an emphasis on indigenous civilisations and medieval and imperial Spain and Europe.
The Duke enjoys spending time with the Duchess and their two children, their dog (rescued from a shelter), and their African grey parrot. The Duke also enjoys horseback riding, languages, wine, writing, and reading. His Highness is a lover of all forms of classical music, and a devotee of the opera.
Their Highnesses are firm believers in living a sustainable lifestyle in order to combat climate change and pollution. To that end, they prefer to live un-extravagant, private lives.
